Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program Information Sessions

Virginia Tech's Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship program seeks to recruit top talent to the university.  Proposals to the program require a candidate identify a Virginia Tech faculty member or members to serve as their postdoc mentor(s) and work with them to craft a compelling proposal to the program.

A list of faculty at Virginia Tech open to hosting a potential Presidential Fellow can be found on this webpage and is searchable by research keywords. Any faculty member at Virginia Tech can serve as program mentor even if they are not listed on this page.

Three distinct tracks are available for faculty and their prospective postdoc to submit to:

In addition, our Science Policy and Research Ethics Fellowship Track is available for interested candidates to apply to directly as the mentor(s) of this program will come from the Division of Scholarly Integrity and Research Compliance at the university.

Interested candidates should carefully review the program eligibility and proposal preparation instructions.

Proposals are accepted twice per year with submission deadlines of March 1 and November 1.

To help prospective postdocs understand the program's goals, tracks, and submission requirements, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will be holding three virtual information sessions in September. These sessions will also cover details on how proposals will be assessed. In addition, current Virginia Tech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows will be present to share their experience in the program and answer attendees' questions.
