How long have you been in your postdoctoral position at Virginia Tech?
Began in September 2023


Briefly describe the research project you are working on as a postdoctoral associate at Virginia Tech. What is the problem you are addressing? What is the expected impact of your work?
Current projects are focusing on the regulation of mitochondrial remodeling following exercise within the heart and skeletal muscle and the role of AMPK in this dynamic signaling process, with specific focus on mitochondrial bioenergetics.

Why did you choose to pursue postdoctoral training at Virginia Tech?
The premier researchers at this institution, the location of Roanoke, and the wonderful environment of Fralin Biomedical Research Institute itself.

What are your career goals?
I would like to become a full time academic researcher at an R1 teaching institution.


How do you see the resources available to postdoctoral associates at Virginia Tech generally and via this program specifically being helpful to your career and professional development?
I feel very supported at Fralin thusfar. The staff, other researchers, and support surrounding post-docs here is encouraging for someone just beginning their career.
