Research Focus
As a postdoctoral associate at Virginia Tech, I plan to lead a research project focused on the neuroscience of fruit flies, specifically investigating the neural mechanisms underlying their landing behavior. By exploring the control mechanisms of proprioception, we can not only gain insights into fruit fly locomotion but also pave the way for developing engineered devices that mimic these capabilities. This research has broader implications for enhancing our understanding of locomotor control across a variety of animal species.
Why did you choose to pursue postdoctoral training at Virginia Tech?
I chose Virginia Tech for my postdoctoral training because the research aligns perfectly with my scientific career goals, and I am excited to work with my advisor. Additionally, the opportunity to receive the prestigious Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship further enhances my decision.
What are you most looking forward to as you begin in this fellowship at Virginia Tech?
I am looking forward to gaining a new perspective and practical skills in neuroscience.
