Right Column Usage
Right columns (or commonly referred to as right-rails) are not commonly used in our web sites. One of the key factors is the right column is pushed to the bottom of the page when the screen is resized for mobile. Additionally, the right column also takes up valuable space for the main column of content.
Examples of when we would use a right column:
- To place child page navigation (direct child links of a page). An example can be seen on the Research Development landing page
- To place contact information for a department where there is one sole contact. An example would be found on the Postdoctoral Associates landing page.
