VT News Feeds
Currently this feature is recommended just for the homepage of www.research.vt.edu and its approved sections.
This feature makes use of a list component to pull all articles from VT News that are tagged as research (or another tag such as Prestigious Research Award).
Settings for the List Component
Properties
CSS Class: for multiple columns, use “vt-list-items-stretch”
Build List Using: Search List
Options for Search List:
- Search in: /content/news_vt_edu/en/articles
- Search depth: All pages (recursive)
- Page type: Articles
Tags:
- Match: Any Tag
- Tags: use the tag you want to sort by. In the above example, pulling all research tagged articles would be “news.vt.edu Tags: Categories / Research”
Order by: On Time
Sort order: Descending
Limit: only set if you are not paginating. Use 3 for pages with right column, 4 without
Paginate after: if used, then base it off of the above: 3 with right column, 4 without
Display Options:
Display type: Column(s)
Image position: Left for single column feed, Top for multiple columns
Number of columns: Depends on component placement. Max for our sites is 4.

Tags:Hide (this is a rare instance that even if you choose hide, the “research” tag will still show)
