Responsibilities

Lacey began her role in the Human Research Protection program as the administrative specialist in October 2019. She followed this by transitioning into a protocol coordinator role in August 2021. Through these experiences and roles, Lacey has developed a passion for working with the Virginia Tech research community and working on improving and developing processes. Her specialty areas include education, training, and outreach, as well as metrics and process improvement.

Background

She has two years of counseling experience working in local school systems with clients ranging from elementary school to college students. She has excellent communication and organizational skills which have been a great addition to the Human Research Protection program.

Education

Lacey earned three degrees from Virginia Tech including Bachelors of Science degrees in both psychology and human development, as well as a Master of Arts in counselor education. She is also a Certified Institutional Review Board Professional.
