Responsibilities

Andrea Nash joined the Human Research Protection Program in 2007.

Background

She has 13 years of experience working with researchers, conducting protocol reviews, and applying and interpreting the federal human subjects regulations. Andrea specializes in social behaviorial research as well as international research.  Along with her experience, Nash has also conducted domestic and international research.  Prior to joining the office, Andrea worked as an in-home counselor and mental health support worker in Roanoke, Montgomery, and Giles counties.

Education

She graduated from Virginia Tech with both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in sociology, with minors in psychology, natural resource recreation, and history. She is also a Certified Institutional Review Board Professional (CIP).
