Responsibilities
Danielle Short joined the Human Subjects Research Protections Program as an administrative specialist in January 2025.
Background
She returned to Virginia Tech after working as an environmental health specialist for the South Carolina and Georgia Departments of Health. She’s also worked in the past as a large/small animal veterinary technician and most recently as a public health research specialist at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Biosecurity, biosafety, and infection control are her special areas of interest.
Education
Danielle is a Hokie and holds a Bachelor of Arts in medical history, with minors in entomology and biological sciences, and Masters of Science in geography and public health (infectious disease).
