Funding Institutional, a subscription database developed by Elsevier, is tool that allows users to efficiently search, track, and receive alerts for federal, state, foundation, and global funding opportunities. Additionally, it allows for retrospective analysis of awards.
In this 1-hour session, attendees will learn the following:

- Discover funding more efficiently through a simple, personalized user experience

Connie Stovall and her team provide institutional and industry insights through bibliometric analyses for Virginia Tech’s Office of Research and Innovation, as well as the Innovation and Partnership units. They also offer research intelligence and grant support on an ad hoc basis
In addition to using traditional web searches and publicly available datasets, the team utilizes various tools for research intelligence, including Academic Analytics, Funding Institutional, Scopus, SciVal, Web of Science and Clarivate Analytics, Dimensions, Mergent, Lens.org, Statista, Google Patents, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Tableau, and VOSviewer.
They also incorporate federal data sources such as the National Science Foundation’s Higher Education Research and Development Survey, the National Institutes of Health, and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System to provide context for their analyses.
