Industrial Security

Virginia Tech has been a cleared contractor with the Department of Defense since the 1960s.

The university has committed resources to further support this industrial security function, including dedicated facilities, staff, and infrastructure. The Office of Export and Secure Research Compliance administers the university’s industrial security program under the National Industrial Security program. The Office of Export and Secure Research Compliance clears faculty, staff, undergraduates, and graduate students depending on the needs of an individual program and customer.
